The second-year annual celebrations of the institution. The annual day got its official name on this occasion as “NRITYAAVISHKAAR – An Ode to Dance”, which would be followed thereafter.
The event was held at the V.K. Convention Centre, Mallesh Palya. The event was a day long affair with an extravaganza of dances and young talents showcasing various activities. The Chief Guest for the day was Shri. Prakash B.V.
Shri. Prakash B.V. worked as an officer in Canara Bank and took voluntary retirement a few years ago. His intention was to devote his time for activities he had a passion for. He is a qualified and experienced mountaineer, travel writer and a photographer. Bitten by the travel bug quite early, he has been involved in travel and adventure activities for more than 30years. Having done advanced mountaineering and skiing courses with high grades, he has participated and led a number of expeditions, climbed with the Spanish and the British team. He is the first Indian to have climbed Mt. Akela Ela of 20000 ft in Himachal Pradesh in 1994. He has also climbed the peaks of Kedar dome, Pelu, Koteshwar, Ladakhi, and Stok Kangri, besides doing Everest base camp and Annapoorna circuit treks. He has over the years, travelled every nook and corner of India, trekked all over the Western Ghats, Thar Dessert of Rajasthan, Andaman and Nicobar. He has travelled many places abroad, and in 2005 has successfully climbed the highest peak of South Asia Mt. Kinabalu and Pinnacles in Borneo.
He has been conferred the Kempegowda Award in 2007, the All India Kannada Sahitya Sammelana at Gadag in 2010, the Gyan Saraswati Award in 2012, and many more.
Shri. Prakash was very encouraging and he was highly impressed with the talented students and the Institution. He also encouraged the students and the teacher, and blessed them with lifelong success and achievements.
The compering was done by Kum. Gayathri. Like the previous year, she began the event auspiciously with her melodious voice, by invoking the Devi and Lord Ganesha. She was a great support to make the event full of fun and energy.
